There are times when I have hope for Africa and other times when I feel like giving up.
I definately feel like giving up after reading the article below.

This is indeed sad and definitely shameful. I wonder where Africa would be if more of the population were educated in the sciences, and if African peoples could move past superstitious beliefs.

Education is really a big part of the problem. I am really disappointed that the big "State" universities haven't taken some sort of leadership role in building annexes in the rural areas - some sort of community college development.
A lot of the development problems will be solved if people in the rural areas could get some basic education at all levels.
